Chatbot
A chatbot is a system that returns a text reply to the user’s message and waits for the next one. Its output is text, and it usually cannot do work in other systems.
Also called چتبات
Chatbots span a wide range, from rule-based systems with a handful of prewritten replies to language-model systems that produce fluent answers. What they all share is that their work cycle ends when the reply is produced.
That limit is architectural, not inherent: a chatbot is designed for conversation, not for doing work. When an organization says “we have a chatbot but nobody uses it,” this is usually why: the user gets an answer and then has to do all the real work themselves.
Common questions
- Are chatbots useless?
- No. They are a good fit for customer support, frequent questions, and user guidance.
- How do I tell whether a product is a chatbot or an agent?
- Ask what happens after the answer. If nothing, it is a chatbot.
