Confidence Level

A confidence level is a statement of how reliable a finding is, together with an explanation of its basis. A confidence level whose basis is not declared has no informational value.

Also called سطح اطمینان

The phrase “confidence: high” by itself says nothing. What creates meaning is the basis: “high confidence, based on a comparison of six similar periods” or “low confidence, only two observations.”

Common bases for setting confidence: volume of supporting data, time coverage, number of observations, data quality and completeness, and the presence of known confounding factors.
